Seafood

As a result of diminishing fish stocks and technological advancements, seafoods such as shrimp, salmon, and tilapia are increasingly grown on “farms“ (relatively small tanks or bodies of water) rather than caught in the wild. While beneficial for natural fisheries, this type of aquaculture can pose serious health risks to consumers. Seafood farms are generally extremely crowded and the use and abuse of antibiotics to increase survival rates is prevalent. Additionally, many of these farms are located in lightly regulated countries and regions. The FDA, using the authority provided to it by the Food, Drugs, and Cosmetics Act, has thus taken a significant interest in monitoring the quality and safety of incoming seafoods.

Anresco performs all seafood analyses required by the FDA and has trained personnel across the country ready to sample product from your warehouse or cold storage facility. Our experienced staff understands the importance of quickly getting perishable seafood products to market and will work tirelessly to make sure your reports are completed in accordance with FDA protocols as fast as possible.
