Kratom R&D Testing
Kratom, also known as Mitragyna speciosa, is a botanical herb indigenous of South East Asia whose leaves contain a spectrum of psychoactive properties. The effects of kratom have been credited to the presence of alkaloids unique to the plant, primarily the compounds mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. Although research is still in its preliminary phase and no FDA-approved uses have been issued, kratom has demonstrated efficacy in treating a variety of chronic medical conditions, with use cases ranging from pain killer to muscle relaxant.
Anresco Laboratories offers comprehensive analytical services to verify the absence of harmful contaminants in kratom products and ensure safety for human consumption.
ALKALOID TESTING | Anresco offers quantification of the following alkaloids primarily responsible for the effects found in kratom. Alkaloid Profile (HPLC-DAD)

MICROBIOLOGICAL ANALYSES |
Additional Analyses: Bacillus cereus, Lactobacillus Organisms, Pseudomonas, E. coli 0157:H7, Listeria, Shigella, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus. Visit our Microbiology Page to view our full scope capabilities. |
PESTICIDE RESIDUE SCREENING | Anresco Laboratories utilizes LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS via the “QuEChERS” method of extraction to analyze for ~300 different compounds at a limit of detection (LOD) of roughly 0.01ppm. This is the same pesticide residue screen that is used by the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) to regulate pesticide limits in organic products. Clients also have the option to run a single MRA by either GC-MS/MS (150+ compounds) or LC-MS/MS (100+ compounds). |
HEAVY METALS TESTING | Anresco Laboratories utilizes inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) to screen for the “Big 4” heavy metals commonly found in kratom.
